The funding round is led by CapitalG, and follows a $20 million employee tender offer at a $1.5 billion valuation in May 2025. This $1.5 billion employee tender offer is just a month ago, and the company revealed that it plans use that strategy so that most of its employees can sell some of their shares valuing the company at a $1.5 billion valuation.
The deal is a secondary deal called a tender offer in the company and the funding deal was led by Sequoia, which bought $20 million shares out of the employees shares. The company's valuation is now doubling and this is not only from the funding rounds.
The valuation doubling is also driven by its AI-powered platform that streamlines go-to-market (GTM) strategies for sales and marketing teams. It's also important to let you know that Clay’s platform integrates over 100 data sources, including first-party, intent, and third-party data, to enhance customer research, automate lead generation, and personalize outreach.
Furthermore, Clay has an AI agent called Claygent. This AI agent supports tasks like prospect research and suited messaging tools, used in serving over 8,000 customers, including OpenAI, HubSpot, Anthropic, and Notion.
All these business models have boost Clay's revenue overtime. The company reported 10x revenue growth from 2022 to 2023 and 6x in 2024. The revenues are also bolstered by acquisitions like Avenue, a workflow automation tool, in January 2025.
The company has also participated in several funding rounds in the past. The previous funding round Clay has participated in includes a $46 million Series B in June 2024 at a $500 million valuation which was led by Meritech Capital, and a $40 million Series B expansion in January 2025 at a $1.25 billion valuation.
The company's total funding rounds have exceeded $102 million. Some of the investors that participated in the funding rounds are Sequoia, Maple VC, First Round Capital, Boldstart Ventures, and BoxGroup.
