Nigerian Businessman Alhaji Aminu Dantata Is Dead at 94

Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata is dead. He died at age 94. He passed away in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, as confirmed by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaid, and family members. Alhassan Dantata was one of Nigeria’s most respected businessmen and philanthropists. He was born in Kano in the year 1931. Dantata was the last surviving son of Alhassan Dantata, a legendary merchant and patriarch of the Dantata business dynasty. Many member of the Dantata family have died. For instance, Alhaji Abdulkadir Dantata, died in 2012 at age 66 in a German hospital after a brief illness. However, the cause of Aminu Alhassan Dantata's death is not clear. Many news outlets reported that he had a "prolonged illness like diabetes", while others reported that he had "a severe health issue affecting his leg."
