Apple is reportedly “nearing mass production” of MacBooks that use its upcoming M5 chip, including MacBook Pro models (code-named J714 and J716), MacBook Air models (J813 and J815) and two new Mac monitors (J427 and J527).
According to the report, these new models are expected to ship sometime between late 2025 and early 2026(first quarter). However, nothing is confirmed yet—the reporter said "I'm told"—so, it’s still based on rumors and leaks, and the timeline or specs could change.
Meanwhile, this schedule is in line with Apple's usual release cycle. In the second half of 2025, production of the new M5-powered MacBook Pro is expected to begin, with a launch schedule for early next year and the updated MacBook Air to follow in the next spring.
Beyond the upcoming M5-powered Apple's MacBooks, we're also expecting Apple to upgrade its Mac Monitors' Studio Display. The Studio Display was first launched in March 2022 and we're expecting the new version to feature a mini-LED screen with better brightness and color accuracy that'll give users a more premium experience.
In addition to that, we are likely to see Apple release more hardware updates in the first half of next year. What’s expected in the first half of next year includes the iPhone 17e, a new low-end iPad, and an updated iPad Air.
The iPhone 17e will stands out because Apple plans to make it clearly distinct from the regular iPhone 17, unlike the current 16 and 16e models that feel too close in features despite a $200 price gap. This should make Apple’s lineup easier for buyers to understand.
