Paystack has launched a new payment option called “Pay with Bank Transfer” for businesses and customers in Ghana. The feature allows shoppers to pay merchants directly from their bank accounts through a secure, unique virtual account generated for each transaction or via USSD shortcodes.
This feature—already available in regions like Nigeria—adds to existing payment methods like cards, MoMo, USSD, and Apple Pay. According to Paystack, this addition provides a faster and more reliable alternative to mobile money and card payments, especially for high-value transactions.
It also offers merchants real-time payment confirmation and centralized tracking of all transactions through the Paystack Dashboard. If you'd prefer to use the "pay with bank" transfer method as a customer, then you'll need to select Pay with Bank Transfer at checkout page.
A virtual account number—with time-based limits—will be generated for you. Next transfer the required funds to the account without omitting the decimals. You can simply do the transfer from your mobile banking app or use USSD.
The payment will be instantly verified and appears on the merchant’s dashboard. After the confirmation, your order will then go through. For merchants, on the other hand, the feature is automatically enabled and it's available for use immediately.
The move marks another step in Paystack’s efforts to expand seamless digital payment options across Africa, empowering Ghanaian businesses to accept payments more conveniently and securely.
