Google is introducing a new beta feature on Blogger, allowing users to easily embed visual Google Search previews directly into their blog posts. This aims to create a more engaging reading experience for visitors by providing rich visual content related to popular people, locations, pop culture, and more.
When I logged into my blogger account this morning, I got this notification saying "Try our New Beta Features: Create a more engaging reading experience with the help of Google
Google Search previews: Easily insert visual Google Search previews for popular people, locations, pop-culture and more directly in your blog! In Compose View, look for the ‘G’ button in the editor tool bar to get started."
With that being said, that means, you can actually access the feature in the "Compose View" (where you write your blog posts). When you login, you need to look for the 'G' button in the editor toolbar.
Once you click the 'G' button, a dialog box titled "Add a Google Search preview" will appear (as you are seeing on your screen). In this box, you can: search for a person or thing, you can type in your desired search query (e.g., "Ronald" "Taylor Swift," "ancient Rome").
Alternatively, you can also directly paste the URL of a Google Search results page if you've already found what you're looking for. After performing your search or pasting the Google Search results page URL, then select the desired preview from the results and then insert it into your blog post.
In essence, this is a tool that allows you to quickly add dynamic, visually-rich content from Google Search into your blog posts without needing to manually find and upload images or embed external links.
However, if this feature has been rolled out to your dashboard, kindly go-to settings in your blogger dashboard, scroll down and toggle on "Draft".
The "Draft" feature in Blogger settings is a parallel environment where Google tests new features and updates for Blogger before they are rolled out to the main blogger.com platform. So, if you enable this feature, you'll likely get new Google updates and features immediately they're rolled out.
