Germany Taps Munich Startup Tytan to Design Bundeswehr Drone-Defense Concept
The German armed forces have commissioned Munich startup Tytan Technologies to develop a concept for protecting military sites and critical infrastructure from hostile drones, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung (F.A.S.) reports. Tytan Technologies is a Munich-based defense startup that develops systems to counter drones. Their main focus is on high-speed interceptor drones designed to physically neutralize hostile unmanned aerial vehicles in flight. In the new deal with the Germany Army, the company will first deliver an initial proposal and is expected to present a full concept by mid-2026. However, the company says its systems has already been tested in Ukraine and has been partially integrated into the country’s air defense system. The company further emphasized that it'll lead a package of partners working with the Bundeswehr’s Innovation Lab in Erding to produce a complete counter-UAV solution.
