One of Netflix’s biggest flagship series, Squid Game, is nearing its completion, and a first look (trailer) at its final chapter has just dropped. The streaming giant unveiled a teaser for Squid Game’s third season, offering a fleeting yet gripping preview.
Although the final season trailer is brief but I can say that it captures the show’s signature unease. It spotlights an eerie gumball machine at its core.
According to Netflix, the season 3 was picked up following the gut-wrenching finale of season 2. In season 3, Gi-hun (Player 456) returned into the savage core of the games with the aims to eliminate them forever.
However, he was tormented by the betrayal and death of his trusted friend Jung-bae (Player 390), leaving him to confronts fresh dangers, including the Front Man, who cunningly infiltrated their uprising as Player 001.
Picking up from season 2’s devastating cliffhanger, season 3 thrusts Gi-hun (Player 456) back into the brutal heart of the games, determined to dismantle them once and for all. Still haunted by the betrayal and loss of his closest ally, Jung-bae (Player 390), Gi-hun faces new perils — including the Front Man, who shockingly infiltrated their rebellion disguised as Player 001 -- Netflix.
The original Squid Game premiered back in 2021, but fans had to wait years for its follow-up. The gap between the second and third seasons is much shorter, with season two having debuted in December and the final season slated for June 27th.
While the main storyline is wrapping up, Netflix is clearly committed to expanding the Squid Game world. Last year saw the release of the mobile game Squid Game: Unleashed, and rumors are swirling about a potential spinoff directed by David Fincher.
